Blooming Acres - Where Inclusion Comes to Thrive!

Clients have differing abilities, so working in Blooming Acres (our veggie farm) can be challenging for some.  All of the clients have their own individual strengths! Some clients thrive in the seeding process, others in the transplanting. 

Blooming Acres is unique because the clients get a gift at the end of every season. The little transplants they care for so carefully, from seed to harvest, mean so much to them.

It’s rewarding to see the clients take pride in their work - lighting up when a tomato turns red; learning when the plants are ripe enough to harvest; and enthusiastically measuring okra size to make sure it’s ready. 

Other vegetables are not as easy to locate.  One fun way to help clients harvest produce like green beans is by planting varieties that are bright purple and yellow! It makes the work so much more fun when everyone can participate.
